Our Story

SuperFUNtasticEvent was established in 2003 by entrepreneur Regina (Ginny) Witkowski Sudlow.

Regina was working in Finance in 2002 while expecting her last child. During this time a serious medical condition put both her and her unborn child at risk. This condition put Regina in the hospital for five full months, until the birth of her son. The family went from a double income family to a zero-income family overnight as her husband had to give up his evening job to care for the other five children. Due to regulations of the Finance industry, and having no access to the internet from the hospital for Regina to be able to attend compliance meetings her insurance and security licenses were put on hold.

In addition to Finance, and being a mom Regina had been face painting and balloon sculpting for several years, many people had encouraged her to try doing her craft for a living. Up to this point Regina had not wanted to risk the security of her job in Finance to follow her dreams. After facing months of not knowing if she or her son would survive, and having her licenses temporarily put on hold she realized the time was now! If the dream of party planning and entertaining did not work out she could always return to Finance. This experience led Regina to the belief that you are never guaranteed a tomorrow.

Regina found help through SEED Winnipeg’s build a business program. SEED Winnipeg is able to provide this program with help from the United Way Winnipeg. She entered the Immigrant Women’s Build a Business Program and once she successfully completed the program, she was able to launch FUNtastic Party and Special Event Planning, rebranded in June 2003 to SuperFUNtasticEvent. She has never looked back.

Regina and her business have looked to partner with other local businesses and artists to provide the highest level of products and services to all her clients. As founder and CEO of SuperFUNtasticEvent, Regina believes in Community Economic Development principles, supporting local and keeping resources local as much as possible.
